We invite you to attend the workshop about the planning and creation of public spaces with the name: „Placement of public spaces in settlements - planning of sustainable and successful public spaces". The workshop will take place on 12th November 2009 at 9:00 am in the library by Technical University in Zvolen.
Workshop goals:
- to provide information about different approaches of public spaces placement with an objective towards substainability
- to compare approaches of different types of public spaces
- to define the different types of public spaces with the example of the town of Zvolen
- to disscuss the creation and to reinforce the identity of public spaces with the example of the town of Zvolen
- to provide information about values of the plan for Lanice city park in Zvolen (including comparison with values and identity of other similar parks in other cities or towns)
The workshop is a part of the project „Claiming the public spaces" financed by CEE Trust and the project UrbSpace project financed by Central Europe Program and ERDF.
The goal of the project is to direct the view of the broader public on urban landscape and its environmental quality. Using the Lanice city park in Zvolen as an example, different methodologies will be tried for the creation of public spaces using the activities of local people together with both Slovak and International experts. The information that will be obtained will be disseminate to other municipalities and partners.
