Projects from Žilina, Zvolen and Kremnica won the support from Think Big program

Creative camping in Žilina, skate park in Zvolen and renewed square in front of the cinema are projects, which obtained the highest number of votes and won the financial support of
7 000 € in the pilot year of Think Big program.

The program was opened by Ekopolis Foundation in cooperation with the partner of the program - Telefónica O2 Slovakia.

The objective of the program is to motivate young people to create and realize their ideas and support their projects in the field of culture, sport, art, and environment.

The main objective of the program is to create and maintain the spaces for young people - safe areas, so that the young people can make decission about their reconstruction and usage. The objective of the program is to give opportunity to young people to have an influence on the „face" of reconstructed place, where young people live, spend their free time and enforce their feeling of responsibility, selfconfidence, success and local patriotism.

There were chosen 6 projects from the whole of Slovakia for public voting. It was possible to vote for them from 1st to 31st July 2010. There were sent 2,598 votes together.

The highest number of the votes (1020) was obtained by the project of Truc sphérique, C.A, Žilina, which will create a safe, green and artistic place under roundabout serving to common art, graffiti and streetart, community activities, young people and dog owners. The second project with 627 votes is skate park in Zvolen. The applicant is GRIND, NGO. It plans the reconstruction of the skate park, construction of new skateboard barrier and new waste bins and benches.

Among three of the best projects is the project of 1115, C.A. with 402 votes, whose objective is the reconstruction of the space in front of the Akropola Cinema in the center of Kremnica town.

The planning and realization of the projects will have finished by December, 31, 2010.
