Special mention of the jury for the Landscape Award

Special mention of the jury for the Landscape Award of the Council of Europe representing the Steering Committee for Cultural Heritage and Landscape obtained Ekopolis Foundation with a project: "The grant programmes for local communities to shape their surroundings into a place where they are happy to live".


From the hands of Maguelonne Deleant- Pons, a director of Steering Committee for Cultural Heritage and Landscape undertook the award Peter Medveď, a director of Ekopolis Foundation. The celebration was organized on October, 20, 2011 in Evora, Portugal.


The winner of European Landscape Award is:

Italy, Joint committee of the municipality of Carbonia - "The Carbonia project : the landscape machine"


Other mentions obtained:

- Spain, Generalitat of Catalonia and Landscape Observatory of Catalonia - "The project of education and awareness raising : city, territory, landscape".


- United Kingdom, Durham Heritage Coast Partnership - "The Durham heritage coast".


The award is the tool of motivation for the support of the caring about all types of the country and the appreciation of the exemplar efforts for reaching the fulfillment of the common aims in the process of implementation of the European Agreement on Landscape.

The legitimate candidates for presenting of the award are the local and regional self-governments, association of the local and regional self-governments, cross-border associations of the local and regional self-governments mutually administrating the landscape and non-governmental organizations.
