Green Belt best project in 2020
The amount of green vegetation planted out in the locality; the construction of a nice wooden terrace with scenic viewpoint; the number of participating volunteers and involved organizations; and the charming scenery of Muránska planina. That is why the project „Terrain information office“ in Muránska planina in the saddleback Burda has won the title of the Best project in the programme of Green Belt in the year 2020.
The unique Terrain information office National Park – Muránska planina was reestablished in the western part of National Park – Muránska planina – Fabova grassy upland and the saddleback Burda in the year of 2015.
Volunteers could have carried out various mantainings of green spaces in the surrondings of the information offices thanks to the this year successfull project in the programme of Green Belt.
Moreover they could have build a new turistic scenic viewpoint thanks to the close cooperation of the National Park Muránska Planina, Municipal Forestry Institute Tisovec, foresters from Forests of the Slovak republic Závadka nad Hronom; also students from grammar school Tisovec; families and friends from surrounding villages.
„Volunteers have planted out the total amount of 150 trees of Rowan and European Larch trees. The trees have been protected with a net in order to protect them against wild animals chewing them off and against animals destructing the wigs with their antlers. Morever the net will be used to protect another twigs when the trees grow up. Volunteers also have constructed a nice wooden terrace with panoramic viewpoint to Muranska Planina, Low Tatras, Klenovský Vepor. This big effort cost volunteers nearly 470 worked hours, says Milan Hronec, who has been the Project manager of the programme Green Belt for fourteen years. On 19th September 2020 the respectable performance and the fantastic result of the volunteers´work and the involved organization was shown to the public.
The civic organization Nová Burda has won the title of Top project 2020 and prize money to the value of one thousand euros. On Friday 19th December 2020 we awarded them online via social media of Ekopolis Foundation.
We warmly congratulate for the excellently implemented project of the civic organization Nová Burda. In addition we keep our fingers crossed for them so that they could have many successfull touristic seasons. We also proceed in supporting all our enthusiasts who spend their time meaningfully trying to improve our countrysides and towns which are worth visiting and familiarizing with.
Next year we want to focus our attention on plantation of green vegetation and its treatement in the fifteenth season of project of Green Belt. The motto of the fifteenth season is: „Planting for the future“, adds Milan Hronec.
