A Good Neighbor will support other projects, Ružinov can also get involved

The Good Neighbour grant program will once again support interesting projects that improve life in the community or the surroundings of the residence. From August, residents, local governments and organizations in the Bratislava districts of Vrakuňa, Podunajské Biskupice, and, more recently, Ružinov, as well as in the Rovinka village, can apply for a contribution of up to 4,000€. A total of 30,000 euros will be distributed. The grant program is launched by Slovnaft in cooperation with the Ekopolis Foundation.

Good Neighbour financially supports ideas for improving the quality of life of the communities around the Bratislava refinery. In the previous year, in addition to the municipality of Rovinka, two Bratislava city districts could also apply for contributions; from August 2020, a third city district will be added – Ružinov. The topics of the projects should focus on the creation or restoration of interesting sites, leisure activities of the inhabitants or building facilities for the development of boating and cycling. The implementation of projects should include the cooperation of active citizens, volunteers, local governments, school facilities and civic associations.

In the first year of the Good Neighbour program, Slovnaft received 22 grant applications and supported 12 of them. Thanks to the grants, we managed to reconstruct the playground in Rovinka, organize the AŠK Inter Bratislava kayak school for children from primary schools, buy equipment for hockeyball tournaments of the civic association HBK in Vrakuňa or complete the playground in the Hnilecká kindergarten.

“Residents themselves know best what needs to be improved in their housing estate, school or kindergarten, so that children and adults can spend their free time there and feel good. The first year of the Good Neighbour program brought several original projects and I believe that the second year will also motivate the inhabitants of Vrakuňa, Podunajské Biskupice, Ružinov and Rovinka – our neighbours to come up with interesting ideas. We will help them with their implementation, “says Gabriel Szabó, Deputy Chairman of the Board of SLOVNAFT.
